Facial Surgery

Explosion victim. Surgery was carried out under general anasthesia, was giving dentures. Patient was so happy with outcome that he broke down in tears of gratitude and happiness.

Cleft:Case2

Abandoned at birth because of her condition she grew up through the goodwill of neighbors never new that her condition could be corrected until she was told that it could. Cleft of upper lip on left side deviation of the bridge of the nose to the right side patient was admitted for surgery.

She was on admission for nine days and very satisfied with the work done she was happy that she could now live a normal life.

Surgery was done under Local Anesthesia.

Cleft:Case1

Racheal Egah was born a full term baby in a health center. Her mother noticed the defect when the patient was born and she claimed to have done massaging and taken some herbs during pregnance and also had a mild fever during preganancy. No known similar condition in the family. Patient could suckle despite the condition.

BEFORE SURGERY	AFTER SURGERY

Cleft of upper lip on right side cleft extends only to the anterior part of the alveolus. No cleft palate seen. There is an upward tilting o the alveolus on the left side of the cleft. Deviation of the bridge of the nose to the left side

Surgery was done under General Anesthesia. Operation was carried out successfully for about 30 minutes  patient was on admission for 14days the parents where happy .

Facials: Case2

Swelling of mandible of 3 years duration, swelling was increasing slowly in size earliest memory of injury was during a football game where he was hit by ball. No treatment was done no x-rays taken. Facial asymmetry with swelling of mandible extending from left to right. Measures about 12cm by 5cm . firm in consistency .overlying skin appear normal. Associated teeth are spaced out with some rotation.

Patient was admitted for sub-total mandibulectomy plus bone graft from iliac crest under general anesthesia. Patient was happy with outcome after a period of one year graft had hardened and dentures were fixed. Patient is living a normal and active life.

Facials: Case1

The patient was involved in a fight which resulted in Part of her tongue (anterior) been bitten off while the right side of her lower lip was detached leaving only the left side of attachment . she was taken to a clinic where suturing was done improperly .

Surgical repair of the lip was done with the detached right side being sutured together under local anesthesia
